About Chuck
Chuck Pollycutt grew up in New Mexico, first in Santa Fe, then in Albuquerque. His writing is truly from the stories he has lived. Chuck has spent time on the streets of Mexico’s notorious Juarez, as well as Tijuana, Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, and Mazatlán. He has also spent equal time on the obscure beaches and waters of Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
As a licensed Yacht Captain, Chuck spent considerable time with William Devane and Shannen Doherty during the filming of the TV movie, Obsessed. While Chuck managed the yacht used in the film, Mr. Devane inspired Chuck to take his stories to the screen. This, in turn, led to television writer, Garner Simmons, who provided Chuck insight on Hollywood writing standards. In addition, Craig Kellem, previous Head of Development for Universal, was most instrumental in advancing Chuck’s career. Chuck credits both Garner and Craig for the success he has achieved. Currently, Chuck is marketing a selection of award-honored scripts, a single-camera TV comedy pilot, and an original country ballad including lead sheet and studio-recorded demo. (Mastered demo available in either 16 or 24-bit WAV file or mastered MP3 file.)
Previously optioned by producer Patrick Hughes, the following is a collection of Chuck’s additional screenwriting awards:
Best Drama Telluride Indie Fest, Silver Remi Award World Fest Houston, Nicholl Fellowships Quarter Finalist, Winner Hollywood Script, Extreme Screenplay Runner-up, ScreenCraft Semi Finalist, Faith In Film Finalist, Official Selection Oaxaca Film Fest, Top Ten Las Vegas, Outstanding Drama Ventura Fest.
